your hair is adorable... my hair was once quite similar to that... it is in the process of growing back out to that style.
it's taking way too long.
your post weirdly hit home... considering for some reason i sat and watched a show on hbo last nite about this girl who had her limbs amputated as a result of spinal meningitis.
it just shocked me to see the subject brought up again.

Actually, my son wants to have bionic appendages too. I think it's a pretty common thing among boys.
My kid got the idea from watching Teen Titans (a habit I thouroughly encourage). I don't worry much about his "robot arm" wanting self. He also wants the ability to shoot lasers out of the arm, fly and rip walls apart.
Again, a fallacy I encourage as much as possible.
