bouncing_chibi said she'd...ahhhhh, let me see it, if you will, but I keep forgetting....

You can see where my priorities *don't* lie!

Sounds a little West Side Story/Romeo and Juliet for today's youth...?

Actually, my students were 19-21 and squealing. That's probably about where the gapping'll stop, ne?

I kind of like HSM. It's a terrible movie, and the music isn't particularly inspired, however it's kind of fun to watch, and the dancing is actually really good. I honestly find the cultism of HSM more interesting than the movie. And Vanessa Hudgens is kinda hot.

The cultism is GREAT, because it's making a new generation aware of musical theatre. Maybe Broadway will have a longer life-span after all this new blood!<3

I actually saw both last weekend. I had always thought HSM looked stupid until I saw Hairspray and wanted to see more of Zac Efron! Unfortunately, he looks much better in Hairspray and the weird dub/blending that they did to his voice for the first film was distracting. Both were very cliched...actually, I thought the first was like Grease with more emphasis on the cliques instead of gangs and how they join up to try and stop our couple getting together along with a main villain and her sidekick ( ... )

You're still weird and Tina-ish. ^.~ (Dude, does Tina know that we coined a term? lol!)

even if the lyrics weren't deep or Tony worthy

...Probably why I heard it was so bad, ne? ^.~

I'm glad you enjoyed it, though. The best thing I can say for the musical is that a new generation has the opportunity to become addicted!<3
