As usual, while browsing for random videos in Youtube, I came across this page, and for a very short moment I toyed in my mind with this possibility ( Read more... )

That indeed would be too cool! I've toyed with similar plans myself, often also just for the duration of half an afternoon or evening LOL cause none of these ideas are practical in my current situation haha. I've also played with the idea of going to New Zealand or Australia in the past, to work on a biological farm for the duration of 3-6 months. Back when it was still 'just me' these kind of things were much easier to implement then they are now. Not that I would change anything otherwise, I love being "the two of us" heh. There was (and might still be) a slight possibility that I could do part of my masters degree abroad, and while it's seriously tempting and S. has told me he was okay with it and actually would want me to persue the option if it really was an option, I'm just not sure I could be so far away from him and home for such a long period of time.

I'd also think more than twice it if it was 3-6 months, but the project described in the link is only 2 or 4 weeks. I wouldn't even have to quit my day-job for this LOL.

But yeah, it was just a whim. With my luck, I'll get eaten by them lions on the first day! ;D

Yes, 2 weeks is definitately doable.. I suppose anyway! The longest I've been away from home (without S.) since we've been together has been 9 days I think hahaha.

The longest I've been away from Jeroen since we got married was three weeks I think...

Before our marriage, we spent months away from each other LOL. Long distance relationship for the win!

However, Jeroen's now even made the whole volunteer experience more tempting: he says he's coming along!! I can't think of anything awesomer than being able to share such an experience along with him. So for all you know, this can turn into something serious! :D :D

I think this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and 2 to 4 weeks is deffinitely do-able, what's stopping ya?

Nothing much, really, once you think about it heheh. And if Jeroen comes along it would be even cooler. It's definitely something to keep in mind for next year!!

Deffinitely :) You can contact them already to see when volunteers are most needed, it might help you to decide and fit it in to your schedules :)
