i think you've misused the word 'abide.' abide means to stay or to endure but the context youve used it in implies that maybe you were meaning comply or concede or something else along the lines of 'give in.'
To conform to; comply with: abide by the rules; had to abide by the judge's decision.
I don't see where the word was used in this entry so I don't know if this applies per se. I do know however, that a critique of someone's livejournal entry is a bit over the top when it comes to being grammatically correct. After all, this isn't a publication in a newspaper it's a journal.
