So, Bioshock was released yesterday. Now, when I say "released", I mean officially and legally, so really only the PC version. The Xbox 360 version has been on the internet for about a week already

Ewwww. D: Sounds vaguely like PSU release, both with the jumping through hoops to try to avoid pirating and hacking (but they had no CD key so 90% of people pirated it anyway) and inept management. In Sega's case it was more worthless tech support that wouldn't explain anything if you couldn't get the game to run, to the point where the only real help you could get was user-made threads that you had to stumble onto their official forums to find. It sounds like Bioshock has had a lot of problems at launch though, between the things you mentioned, the lack of true widescreen support, the broken action figures with the limited edition...
I want to try it, but that really is some cluelessness on the part of 2k. I guess I'll wait a while until things settle down.
It's a really, really fun game, and the atmosphere alone is worth playing for. I'm hoping this isn't the developer's fault, just the distributor. In any case, there'll certainly be a scene release with an activation crack in the next couple of days; the hard part is just keeping myself and Boolo from foaming at the mouth until then.
