EA Games now owns the only (in my opinion) decent RPG company in the industry, Bioware.

Just because you can buy companies to lessen competition with your shitty products doesn't mean you should.

Oh well, at least this means we'll get to see Jade Empire 2,3, and 4, and KOTOR 17.

That was Obsidian, Bioware doesn't really make their own sequels.

They farmed out NWN2 and KOTOR 2 to Obsidian; I think they're doing Mass Effect 2 and 3 themselves, but now that EA is in the game that could change.
