Possibly the best Ford commercial ever, Ford Sync - Objects is hilarious. Treadmill On... (Ungh!)
Blinds Close... (Cover your eyes!)
Door Open... (Ka-Squish!)
Not everything responds to your voice like Sync....
One of my coworkers just got a new Focus with Sync, he says it rocks hard, he actually didn't order the car with it, but now they'll get it ( Read more... )

We were about to order a Focus, and we had to get SYNC to get a cruise control (believe it or not) but they weren't going to be building any 08 focuses with SYNC until January or later, unless you ordered the "punk moron" package (spoiler, chrome exhaust tips, low profile "please destroy these expensive rims next time I hit a pothole" tires, etc). So we bought a Fusion instead.

I can't believe the guy who got the Focus ordered the ricer package, he has a wife and 4 kids and was trying to save on money... I think it was like $4 a month extra on his lease so he didn't order it. Bad that they're confused though.

Does your Fusion have Sync? You can't go far wrong with a Fusion, considering the fantastic quality & customer satisfaction numbers it has been getting, and that or a used Lincoln version of the same thing is what Asya wants. Hope you like it!

It doesn't have Sync. I would opt out of it if at all possible. It's a lot of crap we don't need, I refuse to use a phone while the car is moving, and I've never had a problem finding a needed control in a fraction of a second once I learn the car, so I'm not sure that it's useful for anything except impressing the natives.

It only comes standard on certain Lincolns, I believe.

You're unusually self-controlled, John... I think you have a point that talking even on hands-free is a slight distraction, but for me, it would be a positive safety feature, my hands-free dialing isn't as good as Sync, plus there's an advantage to automatically turning down the radio and answering hands-free. I'll usually just hand my phone to Asya if she's in the car when it rings, but the way Sync works seems even better.

Perhaps the radio/iPod/USB music features aren't for you, or maybe you're just crotchety! (I love that word... and I like to be crotchety too! Bah, humbug! Hmm... or is that Cratchity?) I think some of the version 2 & 3 features are going to be even cooler.

We don't? So that's why I never figured out how to do speed dating!
