I'm going to have to go over and check out the blog for Helen in a second...building our house, living in the woods, MILES from any fire station, and using a woodstove and oil lamps, this is the stuff of nightmares for me. Literally, sometimes.

WHO is that doll by?? Absolutely love it...even if she reminds me of Jane Child from back in the late 80's/early 90's.

As always, great stuff...except the tragedy.

this is a bad time of year for woodstovers. the fires smolder and make lots of creosote in the stovepipe. apparently what happened to helen. once it hit the propane tanks it got really scary, helen's lucky she wasn't burned.
