I don't think that is true at all. To make your statements PC is to soften the meaning of them, and in some cases, take away the point entirely. I think many people would agree that using the term "black," instead of, say, "African-American" is far from being a mean-spirited bastard. And yet, it's still not being PC. Telling someone who speaks "Ebonics" to learn proper English is, by many, considered not caring for the person's situation, and being un-PC. Also, following PC rules can limit many people's thoughts. It may be targeting a certain group of people, but to say "Maybe this is un-PC, but the problem with this country is that there are too many immigrants" isn't necessarily making a mean-spirited remark if one has reasons to believe this that are based off of more than their foreign nature. Many people try to pass off being un-PC as an excuse to just flat-out be obnoxious, but that isn't the rule, so much as the vocal, and therefore more noticeable, exception to it. Plus naming yourself "un-PC" is by no means a "PC term," since ( ... )
