gender. Female.
race. Vampire.
appearance. Tear has long, light brown hair that reaches past the middle of her back. Her bangs are parted to the right, and they obscure half of her face as well as one of her eyes, both of which are a bright turquoise hue. Standing at five feet and two inches, Tear is slender, with a figure vaguely resembling an hourglass. Her wardrobe consists mainly of black dresses that are neither revealing nor conservative, and her shoulders are usually bared in most of the clothing she wears. She wears her hair down for the most part, though she will tie it up for functionality once in a blue moon. Since she does not hail from Allupato, her clothing in the city consists mainly of her favored wardrobe articles: a thin, sleeveless, legless magenta undergarment with a turtleneck-esque collar worn beneath a black, high-collared and sleeveless dress that reaches down to her knees, its bottom half split into three sections up to just above her hips, revealing a hint of thigh and a pair of stockings made of the same material in the same color as her undergarment. Two small daggers are hilted at the front of her thighs, though they are more for show than anything else, as she really does not employ them in combat. On her arms are detached sleeves that reach a few inches up her upper arm, though her shoulders are still bared. She also wears a pair of plain white gloves on her hands, and a pair of knee-high boots that mimic the motif of her sleeves and end in what appear to be a pair of white high-heeled shoes.
personality. Unemotional, calculating, and concise, Tear's personality is reminiscent of an extremely accomplished soldier. She will not dumb things down when explaining things to people, and she does not pull any punches when engaged in conversation. She is respectful to those of higher ranking than her, but she is usually rather cold. Tear is very analytical, and will not act on impulse or jump to a conclusion without gathering the necessary information she needs in order to make a decision. The only times when she will act rashly are when her older brother, Van, is involved. For the most part, Tear is objective and will hide her emotions, though this makes it difficult for her to express herself. Behind her tough façade, however, lies a girl with an affinity to cute things, which she actively tries to repress.
abilities. Tear has the overall abilities of a fledgling vampire, and she is by no means an exceptional creature of the night. Aside from her vampiric abilities, however, Tear is well versed in combat with staves and maces, as well as throwing daggers. Her aim, which was exceptional in life, is magnified in her vampiric state. Tear is also rather quick on her feet and does well in hand-to-hand combat, and it is apparent that she received some degree of formal combat training while she was still human. Though she is faster and stronger as a vampire, she isn't exactly Supergirl in terms of being able to bust down brick walls after traversing the planet twice in under eighty seconds. It would be rather difficult for a human who was not in the know of her weaknesses to kill her, but she is not the strongest vampire (or vampire fledgling, for that matter) to stalk the streets of Allupato.
weaknesses. Being a vampire, Tear has the typical weaknesses of her species. She is also extremely weak in the presence of cheagles-creatures sacred to the Order of Lorelei, a doctrine that was widely hailed in her native soil-due to their religious importance and overall cuteness. In fact, all things that are remotely cute can be considered weaknesses of Tear's, be them small animals to clothes to battleships. A more serious weakness that Tear possesses is her older brother, Van. As stated before, she only really loses her composure when her brother is involved, due to unknown reasons. Tear's cold, calculating disposition can also be considered a weakness, as she finds it rather hard to keep people close to her due to her somewhat frigid nature.
history. Tear was born and raised somewhere relatively far away from Allupato, and the exact location of her homeland is unknown. What is known about Tear's native country, however, is that the primary religion was beneath the Order of Lorelei, and that Tear was part of some sort of military task force, in their intelligence division. As a young girl, she grew up alongside her elder brother, Van, who grew up to become a high-ranking officer in the aforementioned military. The cause of the tumultuous relationship between Tear and Van is unknown, though it seems as though Tear will set aside the hostility with which she regards Van for the greater good. Tear was sixteen years old when she encountered her sire near Allupato when she was sent on a reconnaissance mission to recover an officer that went missing in the area. Sometime before this, however, Tear came across a certain Luke fon Fabre and a group of five others, with whom she traveled with for a time, in spite of her duties as a military officer.
The vampire that turned Tear was suave and entirely smooth, and though Tear was never one to simply trust others blindly before ascertaining their abilities, she soon fell victim to the vampire's mind tricks.
The scuffle was brief, and one could only assume that the vampire was powerful enough to fend off a trained, normally levelheaded soldier's attempts at hand-to-hand combat with a supernatural creature. Sensing that it would be a waste to simply drain Tear dry and not wanting her to call forth a band of already superstitious people to whatever hovel he decided to hole himself up in, Tear's assailant made the decision to turn her into one of his own. Tear, already weakened by the blood that the vampire had consumed, didn't put up much of a fight, and soon lost consciousness.
Tear awoke three nights after the fight, feeling an insatiable thirst consuming her entire being. She found that her vision was as bright as day although she was in an unlit alleyway, and she smelled something that drew her towards it as if it were a magnet. To her astonishment, the smell was emanating from the people walking down the street outside the alleyway, and she soon remembered what exactly had happened to her three nights prior.
Shocked and appalled at what she had become, Tear quickly set out to find an alternative source of sustenance, acting on two parts instinct and one part morality. She knew very well that she couldn't drain a human-could she? Coming across a less-than-virtuous woman offering her services outside of a slum, Tear decided that a whore would be better off dead either way, judging by the smell of her. To Tear, the woman was diseased and filled with blood… and before she knew it, Tear was disposing of the completely drained body of a hooker in a nearby river, feeling disgusted with herself. For all intents and purposes, Tear hated what she had become-but knew that she had certain duties to fulfill. With this in mind, she made her way to Allupato in order to hunt for blood and possibly gain answers about the soldier she was sent to recover. She is currently maintaining a low profile in one of Allupato's many hotels, painfully aware of Chrysalis and its "quarantines."
