Hey, you don't know me but... I was editing my interests and put in Kerry O'Brien, then I had to check just to see if anyone else but me on live journal has a thing for feisty ranga journalists. Then I saw on your profile that you are a Brisvegan & study law at QUT (as do I), work for a law firm (as do I), like the Mighty Boosh & Andrew Lofthouse (as do I). That was just too weird and coincidental so I had to say something. Hope you don't mind, I promise I'm not a crazy stalker.
I'm about to start my last semester!!!! oh yes yes yes!! The whole change of courses/transition thing was a bit confusing at first but I am just going to stay in the old course, there's no point switching now. Where are you at?
I work for a tiny suburban firm (doing conveyancing at the moment - ugh!). Cos I'm pretty much doing a full time study load (well, three subjects) plus full time work I haven't had much chance to meet people at uni, I tend to get in and get out. It's painful but I think it's worth it for the experience (working & studying, that is - especially when I encounter people who have got nearly to the end of their degree and never set foot inside a law firm - I wish em well, but scary! for them)
I'm about to start my last year. I have switched into the new course so that I don't have to do advanced research!
I was in and out for the most part of last year, a lot of the time it felt like i wasn't back at uni at all, but still working fulltime. I work in Environment and Planning at Minters, which is a good experience, but very big, and i think it would be nice to work for a littler firm!
