One thing I'd say about your Jays cap link is that caps like that have been mandated by MLB in the past on national days. There were stars and stripes for 29 teams, and a maple leaf for one - but the Jays themselves did not have a say in the matter. (And you might as well have just gone with the easier pickings: The new, retro logo they unveiled recently for the upcoming season.
