It was recess time. Most of the little girls and boys were already outside and running around, singing the new song taught that day at the top of their high voices, or sitting on the swings and trying to lift themselves into the skies. Jaejoong was sitting in the sandbox, holding a stick and trying to dig a deep hole because hey, there might be treasure at the bottom- or maybe he would get to China!
He dug and dug and dug but eventually, his arms got tired and he was bored of digging.
He looked around at the other children, the group of boys over there playing tag, the huddle of girls taking turns down the yellow slide. His curious eyes fell onto that boy, that boy named Yoochun with deep brown eyes and a smile brighter than a diamond. He liked Yoochun, he was so nice and always shared half of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich with him during lunch time.
Is this love? The inquisitive toddler wondered to himself, and with a nod of his head, he decided that yes, this is definitely love, because, what else could it be? No one else shares half their sandwich with him.
“Hey, Yoochun!” Jaejoong ran over to him, waving his hands covered in sand.
Yoochun waved back and grinned. “Jaejoong!”
“Yoochun, I have a secret to tell you.”
The other boy ticked his head to one side, eyes lit up with interest. “Oooh! Tell me!”
Jaejoong leaned in. “It’s…”
After the quick peck on the cheek, he ran away, giggling to himself, leaving a blushing and surprised Yoochun in a daze.
