He tugs you by the arm, eyes locked for a split second and a knowing smile is shared. He takes the lead, sprinting down the sidewalk and turns into a narrow lane, trees spreading its branches over your heads, shielding you from the rays of the sun. His movement is swift and you’re captured by his glow. In the shadows, his profile is drawn with careful strokes, brown locks brushing in his face and his dark eyes speaking love in a thousand languages. You don’t know where you’re going but you trust him, trust him to take care of your delicate heart and lead you to the ends of the earth.
He stops.
A field of green lies before you, wild flowers and butterflies, the sun, and blue skies welcoming you with an embrace of warmth. You hear a twinkling of bells, ringing softly like a granted wish at midnight. Somewhere in the distance, far away, you watch as a flock of birds glide along the edges of the clouds, dipping and soaring- free.
Hands intertwined, he guides you onto an unmarked path and you follow, leaving a pair of footprints on the grass and a trail of love behind.
