Ear Infection = ER

So I went to the ER this morning, because when I woke up, my ear was extremely swollen and infected. Great, I know. So, when the doctor finally saw me, he decided that my rook piercing had to be taken out. However, it was pierced with a captive ring, and only professional piercing tools are designed to take it out. So, he brought in these metal clamps and attempted to separate the ring, which he did, and the ball flew out, almost falling into my ear. At this point I was screaming in pain. I have never been in more pain in my entire life. Then, the doctor realized that my ear was too swollen to remove the ring, and determined that it needed to be cut out. I was screaming at the top of my lungs, while blood was squirting out of my ear. The doctor and nurse then stopped and realized that they needed to anesthetize me, so they brought in a Percoset, freezing spray, and a giant Novacaine needle, which they shot all around the left side of my head.

After I was pretty numb, that's when the doctor brought in the pliers, two small ones, and one giant one (literally 2 feet long, at least) that my mom said is used to cut giant locks. Well, thank God the large one was too big to maneuver around my ear. So they finally took the two small ones and after a lot of squeezing, pulling, and yanking on my freaking ear, they were able to cut it off.

Then I was knocked out by the Percoset.

No more piercings for a LONG time.

The sweet 16 party is on Saturday, hopefully the swelling in my ear will go down, because right now, it's like partially folded over and significantly bigger than my other ear.

One more day in the life...
