Sensibly-priced latex gloves

Suppose I wanted to buy three or four hundred pairs of disposable latex gloves (powdered, non-sterile, industrial-grade) around Cambridge. Where would I go to get a sensible price

The best I'm aware of is Wilco on Milton Road, who sold me a 100-box for 5.99 a couple of years ago. This may or may not meet your definition of silly money...

Something around £3.50 a box is what sounds reasonable to me.

£5.99 is about the same price as Gompels (whom I won't dignify with a URL, given you have to create an account before they'll tell you shipping costs and there's no facility to delete an account) once you've factored in VAT and P&P. I'd probably rather give Wilco the money, given they've annoyed me less.

But… Wilco's website suggests they only sell medium and large. That's… unhelpful.

Staples sell them, but at 5.99/100 + VAT.

We got ours from the tescos pharmacy (by asking for a box of disposable latex gloves, they don't have them on display). I can't remember the price, but I think it was also about 6 pounds.

I guess I don't think 6 pounds is silly money for 300 latex gloves. It's a penny per glove, way less than 1% of our monthly takehome pay, and I'm only going to buy a new box once every couple of years if that.

There are boxes and boxes of them on any ward in Addenbrooke's. Perhaps you can make a charitable donation to a ward's collection in return for a couple of boxes?

I get mine from the catering supplies place that used to be on the corner of Milton Road and Arbury Road, and are now in Barnwell Drive. Their name escapes me right now... Bob Hopper? Something like that.

Do you happen to recall the approximate price?

I didn't, but I just had to buy a new box. They're £4.20 inc VAT, however they are vinyl not latex. I don't know if they also do latex ones but you could try ringing them to ask?
