Prayer intentions

DH and I are leaving for our pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi on 11/7. The priest who is leading us has asked us to gather intentions from our friends to be offered at the Masses he says for us while we are there. I will be offering the general intention "for all the intentions of my friends" but if you have something particular that you would like me ( Read more... )

I hope you have a fabulous time in Rome. Pay no attention to waistlines. Just enjoy the food, coffee, gellati, etc.

Try to make the trek to the top of the hill in Assisi on foot. It's worth doing just to know you did it. The contemplation that happens in Assisi is amazing. I had friends who converted to Catholicism after a visit and others who were engaged on the spur of the moment while there.

Also...I don't know how much international travel you've done, but the best piece of advice I got for dealing with jet lag is to push through your first day there without a nap and go to sleep at the regular sleep time when you're there. It makes for a rough first day, but comes the closest to easily resetting your internal clock.

Again, have a fabulous time!

Yay- so glad you stopped by. I was hoping you would. The priest in charge has assured us that he will drive us like mules (not his exact words- but close) that first day to keep us from falling asleep. I know we are going up the mountain at Assisi. Some walk, some ride. I might try the walk after hearing your take on it.

I am more than a little nervous. We've never left the kids for so long but we'll probably never have a chance for a trip like this again. I hope to come back with a conversion story too. Fingers crossed!
