When everything you'll get is
Everything that you've wanted, princess
(Well which would you prefer)
My finger on the trigger, or
(Me face down, down across your floor)
Me face down, down across your floor
(Me face down, down across your floor)
Well just so long as this thing's loaded.

It was one of those inexplainable things that always seemed to happen to him. He needed to fix something and the only thing that was irrepariable was his marriage. The way she looked at him and through him as if she could see into his core. She found all his worst fears and used them against him. Whether it was to justify her betrayel or to simply hurt him; he’ll never really know.

He remembers the way his jealousy slid across his skin like white hot rage. Anything and everything he could to find out who this other man in her life was. He’s still not sure if the hurt was so sharp because he loved her or because of the betrayel itself. Some days Jack is sure he was so in love with Sarah that her betrayel broke his heart and other days he’s sure he was just too complacent in his life and the fact that he didn’t notice her slipping away is the cause of the poigancy of the pain.

It was even worse when he thought his father capable of the same betrayel. Even now, he wouldn’t put it past the old man. The drunk who ran off to Australia for god knows what reason. He’s sure that his father wasn’t a stranger to the outback, he just wonders what kept him coming back. He thought his father was sleeping with his wife and he doesn’t find fault with that assumption. Maybe he should, maybe that is just one of his many sins, the lack of faith in his father but its one that is now so ingrained in him that he can’t see straight. How can he trust a man who put Jack in the kinds of poisitions he always did. Lying for him, covering for him. Is the blame solely on his shoulders that he was able to believe his father capable of sleeping with Sarah?

Sarah broke him and he’s not sure it was because he loved her. She broke him by reaching inside him and pulling out all his deepest fears. She broke him because she betrayed him, she took a vow and she broke it. And she broke him because she knew better than anyone that in spirit he’d been breaking the vows all along.
