Well, we started off at St. Paul's Cathedral and went to the sight of an old prison long since torn down (I think the name started with an "N") and he told us a story about the short street being haunted by a big black dog, then to a pub where we learned about Guy Fawkes. There was a courtyard where James I saw three witches dancing around a cauldron. We went to the modern court building (The Old Bailey?) and told us about the public hangings that took place there all teh time in the open space. Let's see, the final place we saw was a bombed out church that had been turned into a garden. The guide told us the story of Queen Isabella, "the she-wolf of France".

I know there are some I am leaving out, but that's the bulk of them. It was very interesting and the guide was very friendly.

Fantastic update! Yes the Science Museum is dreadful (and evil, we have five court cases against them at the moment since they refuse to return our ancestors that they stole, and unlike the other museums in Britain and America are sure that they are right). The Natural History Museum next door is definitely better! And, as you so rightly nailed it, the V and A is gorgeous!!!! The BM is always packed, all through the year, and it's got some interesting things in there, but basically it's a tourist spot, like a shopping centre and that's kind of how it operates ( ... )

I had just spent about an hour and a half typing and putting the finishing touches on the next entry and the computer ate it. Well, I think LJ actually ate it. Well, I don't know who ate it but when it disappeared I was pissed.

Little secret between you, me, and the internet? Something's telling me that all those wonderful museums didn't get all their stuff quite fairly and squarely. I'm sure it happens everywhere.

I did enjoy the London Walks just because they turned out to be what their flyer/website said they would be. And I was so sure they would be gently asking for tips at the end, you know how it happens, but they didn't.
