In case you guys haven't seen this:

It's an Israeli UCLA senior who was repeatedly tasered by UCPD for not leaving the library.  There are so many sides to this incident that I don't really know what to think about it.  The student thought it was racial profiling even though every student has their id checked after 11.  I mean yes it is for the ( Read more... )

He could have gotten up. They gave him more than a minute in between shocks and evidently 15 seconds is enough time to recover. He had enough energy to thrash in the air and yell about the Patriot Act.

Actually now that I watch it again, he does like jump up when he's shocked again.... meaning that his legs indeed do work. I guess both sides were pretty stupid/stubborn

At the same time, the policeman at the end was way out of line threatening to taser other students. Yes, this issue is quite complicated!

ohh.... i VAGUELY heard something about that. I can't listen to the vid cause of this school comp. :\ Anyway, how much does tasering hurt someone? It seems like a good way to protect yourself and avoid physical violence.

Well, if you've ever been shocked by static electrcity it kinda hurts when you build up a lot. The most even recorded of a static electricity build-up is 30,000 volts. Tasers can have up to 50,000 volts so it not doubt hurts like hell.
