So, about me -- yeah.

It's been awhile, I know. I've been a flake here. I have been super busy, super tired, and super sick -- all in a row! I had lots of lovely, lovely friends visit me over the past couple of weeks. I was in three different cities in one week. I have been to amusement parks, airports, casinos, many highways and... stuff. I am beat. But it was fun ( Read more... )

So exhausted and my tummy hates me!

Seriously, seriously mark me down for some of that Speed Racer love. I cannot believe how much it rocked and how successful it was at telling its story in a whole new way. And it completely transported me back to a time when that cartoon was the most important thing that ever happened.

And I too recommend the IMAX experience. So much so that I'm catching it again on Thursday, before it leaves the IMAX theater altogether.

See you at that midnight show....

Did you catch it again?

I am amazed at how hated it is, or how hesitant everyone is about seeing it. So awesome! I love the red/white checker thingy at the end of the once race. That alone was worth the price of the ticket!

I took my nieces and nephew to see it in IMAX today, and they -- raised on a steady diet of anime as they have been -- totally got it and loved it.

In the interest of full disclosure, I was publicly very, very cynical about SR:TM for months before it came out. But the final trailer intrigued me (the one where they finally got around to teasing the "A" plot), and I can't believe how good it really was, especially after the very thorough bad-mouthing it's gotten from some quarters.

The thing I might find most shocking is that I don't personally know anyone, ANYONE who's actually seen it who didn't love it. Many of the people I catch talking smack about it haven't even done that much. It's as if this movie drew a short straw to become this summer's pile-on.

Of course. Sorry, but I've been so consumed by all sorts of things right now. Shall do. I forgot, but did you like cheesetastic horror films? Paul wants to see The Strangers.

Which pass did you get? This is the first year in the last 14 that we didn't renew ours. Maybe we'll pick one up later, but at the moment $500+ for two plus parking seems crazy.

I got the SoCal one that costs $169. It already paid for itself now, woo! Exciting. Disneyland is so expensive, yo!

If you get the premiere passes, it gets free parking, but it's the expensive pass. We should all chip in on one parking pass, or something.

Oh, good! I was worried that we were keeping you out too late, because you seemed really tired. And I guess you hadn't had any time to rest in between people coming and going to Vegas and stuff. But I'm glad you had fun!

Yeah, I'm back now. I brought some shrooms with me for camille and mark. I hope we can have some fun hehehe. I did find the rings, I had stashed them somewhere and forgotten where I'd put them. doh!
