Totally off the wall but, how ritzy is the Silver Lake area? Apparently at least 1 Hollywood star lives in that area.

Not so much ritzy, but artsy with lots of indie culture. I guess it's more for the character, but there are nice, large houses in the hills in this area.

Hills are great for the views, but walking back home is such a slog. Think positive - there's no need to join a gym!
