Gym: Afternoon

After last night's enjoyable but uneventful patrol, Mel has a lot of excess energy to burn and she's taking that out on the old punching bag which has clearly seen better days in her opinion.

Any interruptions to her work out would probably be appreciated. At least by the punching bag.

"Tch. Why is the bag always taken when I want to use it?"

"Snooze and you lose," Mel said giving it another solid punch.

[cyclopeanmerc]

"True enough," Pip commented as he stretched a little. "I don't think I know you. One of the new people?"

[cantjossme]

"Yep," Mel replied smashing the bag once more. "What about you?"

[cyclopeanmerc]

"Oh, no. I've been here over a year now. Survived vampires and zombies and trolls and all that other shit."

[cantjossme]

"Oh really?" Mel asked. "I was told there weren't any vampires around here any more."

[cyclopeanmerc]

"There aren't, to my knowledge. A curse turned someone into one for a while until we broke it. Long story."

[cantjossme]

"So then it wasn't really a vampire? Just a spell?" Mel said looking a little confused. "That can happen?"

[cyclopeanmerc]

"Well... sort of. He physically was a vampire. But it was the result of a spell and once we broke the spell, he turned back."

[cantjossme]

"Huh," Mel said continuing to punch the bag. Maybe a tad harder than before. "What kind of spell if you don't mind me asking?"

"Honestly? We're not entirely sure. It was the result of two cursed idols. It turned one person into a vampire and the other was a possessed fairy. Old school fairy. Not the kind of pleasant ones in Disney movies, but the cruel ones that will tear the limbs of a human just to see what happens."

[cantjossme]

Mel was punching the bag much harder now. "So your friend wasn't killed by a vampire. Right?"

[cyclopeanmerc]

"No. Although part of the curse breaking process was shooting him with a silver bullet transmutated from the idol."

[cantjossme]

Mel gives the bag a very hefty punch at that point. "I see," she replied looking a little frustrated. "So I guess your typical vamp transformation wouldn't be cured that way."

[cyclopeanmerc]

"Well, that depends on your definition of cure. If you mean killed, then yes. The blessed silver bullet to the heart would have killed him. If you mean turn back to a human? 'Fraid not."
