The same person that taught me dixieland all those years ago has now taught my son. You probably know this person: he has long ears, a fluffy tail, likes to cross-dress and say "What's up doc?"

OK I admit it; the bulk of my classical music knowledge is through cartoons.

I too, was introduced to classical music through cartoons. I still can't hear Wagner without thinking, "Kill the wabbit! kill the wabbit!"

Dixie is just extra problematic because it's really really catchy. It takes all of half a hearing to pick it up. It's a fun tune, I just wish it didn't have so much baggage.
