Powers
Atticus' mutation is something along the lines of invisibility, but more properly referred to as a 'cloak'. This is because not only can he turn invisible but the manner in which he does so is very similar to how someone would shield themselves. His shield (cloak) keeps anything from harming or coming inside of it. Even telepathic thoughts. Depending upon how weak or strong Atticus is at the time factors how far he can stretch this cloak to guard more than just himself inside of it. It is unclear exactly what substance the cloak is made of, or if it's even a substance at all.

Abilities
Knowledge of several world languages, cultures, and origins. He has experience in different modes of combat, firearms, and other weapons. Atticus can also play the guitar and the piano fairly well.

Weaknesses
Even though Atticus may expand his shield, this weakens him a great bit and he can only stretch it about 360 yards in each direction. While shielding the teams various locations he's also had spurts of insomnia. This is no doubt a side effect of trying to maintain the shield for an expanded period of time, and for a large distance. If Atticus is sick or severely injured, he cannot manifest his cloak at all.

Launch Credit

Born and raised in Birmingham, England, Atticus was apart of a standard homely family. His father was a successful journalist for the local paper, and his mother stayed at home to take care of their son. Atticus always had an aspiring mind to go farther than was expected of him. He questioned everything and never settled for less. An attribute that put Marilyn to her wits end plenty of times, but she loved her son dearly and did her best to nurture his personality in a positive manner. It was she who got Atticus into books, the place where he could let his mind and imagination explore when he could not go outside. His father encouraged him to get into music, setting up customary piano lesssons and when he exceeded there, he learned the guitar. Things seemed happy, and normal.

But Atticus was far from normal. It wasn't until the age of nine did he discover his ability. A year or so after that his parents found out. It was hard to imagine how he had always gotten away with knowing things only they discussed in 'private', or how Atticus was always able to disappear when he didn't want to be around. His father cautioned that he keep his ability dormant, his mother was quiet on the subject. Atticus continued to practice in privacy and as he grew older mastered his ability and learned of all it's uses.

He tried to do as his father suggested and live a normal life, telling no one of his mutation. Atticus went on to get a teaching degree and attempt to teach in a variety of subjects. He grew bored with the teaching restrictions and never truly felt in place at the school. While he enjoyed the interactions with his students it just wasn't enough for him to deal with the simple and narrow mindedness he went through on a regular basis. It was also during a time where mutant segregation and racism was beginning to become dominant. No long could he sit around and here it without taking a stand.

Quitting his job at the University, Atticus became politically active, and wanted to use his ability for the greater good. After all, he couldn't stand by and not put some use to it any longer. Unfortunately Stewart saw that no good could come of the mutant rebellion. He feared for the safety of Marilyn, and for Atticus as well. But now that he was an adult Atti was free to make his own decisions. He took Co Op jobs for the military and mutant activists to protect them when hate groups sent them threats. Because of his involvement, Stewart cut off Atticus' communication with he and his mother, if only for their safety and because he disagreed with his son's way of life. Atticus was deeply hurt and taken aback by what he felt was betrayal, but he could understand his father's concern, if harsh. He still keeps in contact with his mother when she sends him letters from anonymous locations but their contact is sparse.

Over the years Atticus has specialized in working in military operations or fields of work where his cloak is best utilized; guarding, shielding, and protecting those who need it. Through those jobs he's been able to travel the world and experience different cultures. He constantly travels and has never had a steady location to call his home. He's devoted his life and time to his work. Currently he resides with Team X, acting as their shield and cloak as needed. He has met and fallen in love with the genius Dr. Hope Chandler. He stays with the team because he believes that Stryker has more in store for them than he leads on. And he plans on finding out what that something is.
