History.
Atticus was one of the few lucky young mutants; his family was fairly wealthy, intelligent, and most importantly-- they accepted his mutation. Though Stewart and Marilyn feared for their son's protection, especially with the open acts against mutants, they were able to keep it a good secret. Especially since Atticus could make himself invisible to the human eye. But that doesn't mean that they didn't want their son to waste his..'talents'. Privately Atticus practiced what he would begin to call his cloaking ability, and utilized it only when necessary. With support and motivation from his parents Atticus went on to be a very intelligent scholar, teaching Philosophy and Theology at Oxford. Atticus made his students his priority and life's work, focusing little on his own personal affairs, or social life. When he realized he needed to do more he became involved in mutant rights efforts and gave many speeches on their behalf. Earning a great deal of respect for said acts and contributions, Atticus was given the chance to come to MRE home base himself. It's here that he uses his skills to help further educate other mutants who may be declined their rights to learn with the 'normal' children, and hold conferences, meetings, and other agendas that the MRE require of him.
Personality.
As a boy Atticus was very troublesome by nature. His parents tolerated little in lack of discipline, but were not harsh on their restrictions. Even so, as a grown man Atticus is extremely articulate, to the point, and serious. He is not so proper that he may not relax or show any emotion on the spectrum. Actually, he is fairly laid back and extremely hard to anger or agitate. Even when an individual of a 'lacking' mindset should speak with him, Atticus is always polite and maintains conversation with the utmost patience.
