Chemicals in food to make them last longer, taste better, etc.

If you aren't used to it.

If you've never seen food in plastic bags before, you probably shouldn't touch it.

What are they supposed to eat? I'd hazard to guess it's going to be difficult to find food here without some sort of preservative in it.

I'm sure there's plenty of fresh food. At very least they can try to eat foods that aren't completely man made.

There's fruit, I suppose, but even apples are treated and waxed. At least they are where I come from, I really don't know how it would compare to you roundears' world. Worlds. Whatever.

That's true for my world, too, but it's really their only choice. I realize that they wont be able to completely avoid chemicals, even the fish will have absorbed some from all the pollution in the water, but when you compare it to something like Cheese Wiz... Well.
