Japan, Day 1

Let's see how my memory is, nearly two weeks later. :) I usually try to write travelogues as I go, but didn't do it this time. No excuses, except that thewronghands was doing such a splendid job of it. I think this will mainly be a photo post.

Love the big bunny statue!

The whole bunny shrine was pretty adorable. They also had this rabbit vs. beaver(?) motif going on at the tourist area, which was in reference to some legend. The beaver (woodchuck?) had a backpack of sticks that apparently ended up on fire. I took a photo of the sign that explains the story, but it was all in Japanese. Must Google to see if there's a translation.
