So... why did this machine, with its AMD Athlon 64 CPU, ship with a 32-bit version of Vista Home Premium preinstalled on it? ¬.¬

I mean, seriously... even ignoring my loathing towards Vista... wtf, man? Why the 32-bit OS on a 64-bit machine?

As much shit that doesn't work on 32-bit Vista, there's alot MORE shit that doesn't work on 64-bit Vista.

There are a number of compatibility issues still with 64-bit Windows. Many programs were, and still are, built with certain assumptions regarding hardware/OS capabilities that aren't perfectly compatible with the x86-64 setup. The worst offenders are drivers, since they have to operate that low: my printer has been an oversized paperweight since I installed x64 and it took me forever to find the x64 Motorola phone drivers. I can't run Diablo, either.

Can you IMAGINE a normal person trying to use Vista 64?

Fuck, I don't know how my father manages to use ANY Vista.
