A good thing about Alton Brown's Good Eats is that his shows are fun, educating and all about food. Never have I've seen a program incorporating these three elements and being entirely rid of the so-awful-thing known as "food porn" with zooms on a salmon or whatever might be served. Good Eats is one of my favorite shows ever, and AB is my hero. I used to have every episode on my computer.

THe show really does have all the things many cooking shows lack. The fact that he even encourage people to try new things is really great. Andrew Zimmern's "Bizarre food" is interesting, but very far from what Good Eats is. Very, very far.

There is a brand of edamame in Sweden as well, apparently. But not many have heard about it. Thought I would have a look for it the next time I enter one of the bigger malls. I want to use it in a wok or a stew!

I have to agree. It delves much more into the physical properties of ingredients and how to prepare/preserve them than anything else I've seen on television.

Of course. I must admit that there are a couple of things he does that I don't like, but he does so much more that I like making those smaller moments less of a matter.
