Do you write your philosophy essays like this?

Also, I think you should make the distinction between "war machine" and "military-industrial complex". They're not the same thing.

Loosen up dude. This is the internet not a conference panel. Yes (rolls eyes) "War machine" is different from "military industrial complex"... but we have dealt with that in earlier posts in this community. The main difference between the two (if you want to get caught up in such devilish details) is outlined by Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri in Multitude. The refrain from using the term M-I-C because they say its akin to creating a paranoid delusion of a conspiracy theory sort of like the Anti-Semitic belief that "jews run the economy"... in their estimation the political problems are ontological and created out of a decentered set of social conditions. But we've already talked about this in previous posts. (I think... right?)

I think that the use of the term "military-industrial complex" is much more colloquial than the antiquated "war machine". Also, in this forum of all places your language should be more specific. If we're going to discuss extremely detailed things we have to be prepared to actually speak with detail. Your explanation of the term is an exact example of what I mean; without specificity it's very easy to become lost in the lingo. Anyway, it's not like this community is anything other than you posting random things that tie in with philosophy combined with me being critical of them.

well nobody is stopping anybody else from posting. I have repeatedly encouraged people to post. I engaged in a close reading of Anti-Oedipus which fizzled out... SO POST!>!> Who's stopping you! I guess if the tone is anything but argumentative and demoralizing (i.e. just like the other philosophy communities on LJ) nobody is interested. Fine, this board can be a way for me to focus my diss... which just like this community nobody will give a damn about anyway... Have you even read Anti-Oedipus? Or care about discussing it?

I URGE you to read the intended purpose of this community... which I took time to write.
