Hello again.
I am so sorry, having been gone so long... my work had me jump right from Florida to New Mexico to train some new associates in the facility that just opened down there. Either way, I am... uh. Home for the "holiday" season.
I have read a great deal on the human traditions and winter holidays. Christmas, Bohdi Day, a collection of Winter Solstice traditions such as Yule and Dong zhi, Chanukah... the list goes on. And while many of these have a religious focus, I can appreciate the traditions that stand behind many of them. Giving, being with one's family, kindness and caring.
I for one, will take part in the tradition of celebrating the secular tradition of Winter Solstice, since I do want to experience the excitement of the holidays without the usual connotations. I believe humans call it "Yule" or "Yuletide". Though I would rather just stick to Winter Solstice if it is all the same.
At any rate- celebrating being halfway done with this terrible weather seems appropriate.
