[ As has been running all weekend, Mitch had announced that he was going to turn his exploratory committee into a campaign, and he's been running the media circuit for the past few days, but tonight he's on the SILVER FOX'S Program. Who is the Silver Fox? Well, that's the nickname for whatever this world's equivalent of AC360 is. It's a slow news day, so Mitch took the opportunity and ran with it. ]
So, tell us again what you're bringing to the table, Mr. Hundred? All we really know about you is that you're an obscure import who claims to be a politician, and you've had your exploratory committee open for over a year, but other than that, we know almost nothing about you.
That's the issue I think any import will have when running, because we're all unknowns. I could give you my life's story hooked up to a polygraph, but that's not going to win your support or trust, now is it? I can tell you that I was the mayor of New York City, and I won it in the November of '01 election. I could tell you I used to be a Superhero, but I figured out it would be better to change the world legally than by being a vigilante--
I do want to talk to you about this, because I find it interesting in a place where we have superheroes running around, you're more interested in still being a politician. Do you think it should be illegal for the superheroes to keep doing what they've been doing here in the City?
Not at all. The difference in this world and the one I came from is that in my world, I was the only one with superpowers, and I got those in a work accident. Nobody had seen that outside of comic books, much like how the city was, but here we have supervillains as well, and when you have a big problem, you have to bring up a big solution to make sure that the entire city isn't destroyed in the process. Tricky, I know. Believe me, I do. However, what I'm bringing isn't just experience in running a city. Let's face it, this is no ordinary city, but we still have the normal bureaucratic things to worry about before we can concentrate on who's started the recent crimewave, and which supervillain has been hitting the most banks. What I want to do is make sure that those issues are out of the way so we can collaborate and cooperate to make sure that we'll be ready for anything when the time comes.
So what you're saying is that you're not going to make an effort to stifle the import population?
I honestly don't think we have any control over that. I think what we have to do is instead control the other factors in the city to help out the imports, and make a common ground for all of us to work on. End the issues between people like you, and people like me. We need to make sure that we're going to be working together to make this world welcoming for not just every baby that's born, but for every person that gets ripped from their home and put into a new one.
Are you trying to say that this place is a new home for some of you? A high percentage of imports go home, don't they?
Of course, and some of us who get stuck here for long periods of time want to make it feel like we're welcome. We have people starting businesses, working in the police force, and me? I'm doing what I do best. I'm a politician. I'm Mitchell Hundred, and I'm running for Mayor.
Well. Nicely put. Thank you, Mr. Hundred, and I'm sure we'll be seeing both you and your contenders quite a bit in the month ahead.
