[Video cuts in on our dear blue mutant lounging on the couch, this evening outfitted in a red three-piece suit (though he's left off the jacket and has the sleeves rolled up past his elbows) and black tie. He's added a Santa hat to this ensemble.]
[You can just see him closing up a book and setting it on the coffee table. If you look closely, it's a book on Music Production. He's clearly excited about something.]
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen of the Network! Dr. McCoy here, and I hope this day found you well.
I come to you now because I was struck by extraordinary inspiration by a source that wishes to remain anonymous. There seems to have been something of a shortage of holiday cheer lately, or at the very least an uneven distribution. So what better way to resolve that than for those of us with a surplus to share?
To that end, I would like to invite everyone to participate in a little project I'm throwing together. [Flailing his hands as he speaks!] We're recording a holiday benefit album!
Obviously, I'll need as much help with this as is possible, voices, backing band, sound engineers, what-have-you. Just be confident that if you are willing to help, I can most likely find something for you to do!
[Picking up a clipboard from the table, he flips between a few pages.] I'm also still hammering out a tracklist that gives due respect to every holiday in the season, though if there's one you think would be particularly fitting, I'm all ears.
There's also the question of funding. On my standard imPort salary, I can hardly afford the equipment, rent a recording studio and handling distribution! So anyone who can help provide financial support would be much appreciated. It's for a good cause, and I wouldn't doubt you could get a decent tax write-off for it!
Of course, we haven't entirely settled on a cause yet, but I'm leaning towards donating all proceeds to either relief efforts abroad [particularly in countries currently being destabilized by imPort mercenaries] or perhaps something a bit more local? Either way, I'm open to suggestions if you have any.
I'll update you on the specifics once more details are available, but in the meantime, I wanted to test the waters to see who's interested. So, let's hear it!
[ooc: you can check
here for context if you like. also i wasn't sure if i should have a sign-ups post in ooc or not since this is essentially a sign-ups post already? idk, it's my first plot, so i could be wrong on that one.]
