He does seem to have found a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, though, so the blond giant no longer looks like he's an escapee from a renfaire. He does, however, look ill. I'm just glad that apparently, things don't keep going back home. Or my little girl would be very cranky with me when I returned.

I think everyone's allowed to be a bit selfish, now and again.

Oh, you have a daughter? ( suddenly her smile widens. )

[Geran had once observed that his father could have the most ordinary face in the world... or the most un-ordinary. Right now, it was competing for the sappiest.]

I do. And a son. The girl's name is Beldaran and the boy's name is Geran. He's older than her by almost three years, but you couldn't tell it when they squabble.

[His head tilted thoughtfully.[

And I suppose I have a second son of a sort, considering Wolf never leaves my son's side. The two of them...

[He shook his head ruefully, still smiling.]

Inseparable, are they? ( she smiles knowingly. )

Well, rest assured. I have it on good authority that they'll be right as you left them.

Yes, which is the only reason I'll survive. Because my wife might kill me otherwise.

Not that I'm not utterly convinced she'll know I was gone anyway.

Definitely not a stretch to say that wives have a sense about these things.

I hope she's not too hard on you.

[a short chuckle]

Oh, it's just a few plates. The throwing stops after a couple of minutes anyway.

[And after so many years married to his Tolnedran princess, he knew exactly when to utter an 'I love you' to keep her from exploding entirely. Yes, even he'd learned that one.]

So, a perfectly functional marriage, then?

Perfectly. I miss her more than anything.

[There's a faint smile to the first. The second is more raw, though he has no intention of being depressing.]

Married yourself?

( there's the slightest pause before she answers, though her expression doesn't change. )

Not at the moment. But I have been.

[He looks a little lost for words. Finally, he decides on a smile.]

I hope I don't scare you off from it again then.

Not at all. Though I think...I might've had my shot with it.

It's not for everyone. But you might be surprised. One of my best friends was a confirmed bachelor until a couple of years ago.

Things will happen as they happen, I guess.
