I suppose a welome is in order for all the newest arrivals, though I must say, you did arrive at a rather tumultuous time for the city. However, it certainly seems rather as if there isn't a time here that isn't tumultuous in some way or another ( Read more... )

It could just be a coincidence. The porter's choices seem hardly random, and grouping such people could increase the likelihood of running across those with physical similarities.

If the Porter is, in fact, looking for heroes as it says, I suppose it would make more sense to import people who are similar in as many ways as possible. Two for the price of one, in a way.

Though a broader search seems just as useful.

Unless it knows exactly what it's doing, and that isn't finding heroes so much as disconcerting them.

Then doubles would be useful in more ways than one.
