I only got here a few days or so ago. Have you been in this city for a while?

Two and a half years, actually.

Wow, that long? That's a really, really long vacation.

Yeah, I guess you can put it like that. It's pretty rare that people stay here as long as that, though.

Do you miss the friends you left behind? If you don't mind my asking.

Sometimes. But, some of them have come here, so I got to see them again, and I know that I will again eventually.

I like that way of thinking about it. I haven't seen my friends since I got here, but I'll see them again someday. And so far I've met a lot of nice people here, like you.
