[When the video kicks on you can hear lots of meows. A lot of meows. Draco looks a little harried, but is keeping his cool as always, despite all the cat hair on his turtleneck.]I am selling kittens. I need to be rid of them as soon as humanly possible. Fifty dollars for one of the needy beasts, that's a deal, isn't it? They're adorable, and ( Read more... )

You're not yourself fond of them?

[ suddenly thinking about christmas presents, see fauna and faunus, think of rose and nepeta ]

Of course I am, else I wouldn't be keeping two of them, would I?

Well, but then you also don't seem terribly intent on keeping the rest, either.

They drop a lot of fur and are quite loud. And they eat a lot. [Which he can't afford.]

You might have considered this aspect prior to taking responsibility for them. It's no small matter to be taken for granted.

[ suddenly private! ]

I may be inclined to acquire one, perhaps two, from the litter.

Yes, well, the situation was more dire than my eyes being too large for my kitten appetite, I assure you.

That suits me fine, as long as you have the money for it.

I can provide the funds without too much issue.

But I have a friend who I'd considered such a gift for on her birthday, but she wasn't present for it. Well, to be more accurate, she had reappeared in the City on her birthday, in fact, but she'd missed the party I'd planned. Which you may be aware of, perhaps, given that you were present at that party. But I've been made aware that gift exchange is apparently an aspect involved with this upcoming holiday, correct? It's possible that you've granted me opportunity to correct my negligence in this matter.

The other is for a friend in closer proximity whose interests would intersect with the topic, but I may need to discuss our hivestem's policy on pets with Fred and George first.

Oh, you're part of the seemingly adopted Weasley family, are you? However, yes, it's customary to give someone a gift on Christmas.

I was at the party? You weren't thinking of giving Jade another cat, were you? That's just tacky.

Not Jade, she was in attendance to her party, and was fortunately satisfied with the arboretum I constructed for her. Though I suppose you had given her a feline at the time, was that one from the same litter?

Nonetheless, I was referring to Rose, who only returned from her exportation late the following evening. While that was her actual birthday, the opportunity seemed to have passed.

I'm not sure if they're all siblings, the D--Riddle may have just gathered them one by one. But, yes, he was from this pack.

I don't know a Rose, but if you feel she would be a good caretaker. . . [He does worry about giving them over to crap owners.]

Riddle?

But if you'll excuse me, you seem to be rather close with Jade, yet you haven't seen fit to familiarize yourself with those close to her, even those within her residence, as Rose is? Granted, she only returned in the past few weeks, but the point remains. Nonetheless, I can guarantee the purrbeast will be cared for, by myself if need be. Though I doubt that will be necessary.

Just a man.

[He shrugs, not really caring that she seems to disapprove of his lack of knowledge of Jade's friends.] She usually comes over here, or we just speak over the muggle device.

[ it could just be that she's uncomfortable with the fact that she hadn't been aware of him until she sent the invites for the birthday party, like she hadn't been keeping up well enough ]

Well, I suppose that's a reasonable enough explanation. Though perhaps one to be remedied in the future.

Yes, because having more children in my social circle is precisely what I need. [Bloody hell, how low in society has he become.]

I see no problem in associating with children. They often require further care than an adult counterpart, but I'm ever willing to give it.

[ plus, she'd never even seen an adult before until seven months ago ]

Of course you don't, as you're a child yourself. That's appropriate.
