Names are complicated. People are likely to find things to call you even when they aren't provided, and if you're lucky, it will be something you can agree to.

The important thing is, if you had a name, what would you want it to be? If "Monster" is your answer, then there shouldn't be anything wrong with that.

Names are a form of definition. One of the reasons it's preferable to have a name that fits you is that you can use it to guide others' perception of you, or even your own. Perhaps you'll grow to match that perception.

But if you allow another to cast a different label on you, it could divert the perception in both fields, stifle that growth.

Either you learn enough to know where you are, or you look to the future to know who you want to be.
