[The coordinates Mouse gave were for the front of some small electronics store a couple blocks away from the Porter Tower. She leaned against the front window, one knee up and bracing her katana as she gave it a routine sharpen. Even without voice or video, and even in normal clothing, she would be incredibly easy to spot. After all, someone would have mentioned an import with neon orange hair with the visual appearance of television static.]

[ Tony desperately needed to get his eyes away from the electronics and hands away from the armor for a bit. Foregoing sleep was one thing, but even he needed to get away for a bit. The Taxi pulled up right in front of the store, and Tony stepped out, but didn't move from the car, indicating that they were going somewhere in the cab. ]

[She looked up and smiled, sheathing the sword over one shoulder. Mouse was glad she hadn't taken it off before she got pulled to this place - it was bad enough being without Ship and all her other toys. There was nothing to do about it now, though.]

You've never been in cyberspace, sugar?
[It wasn't really a question at all, and she's all smiles until the malicious comment. Mouse scowls, lips pulled back, and a couple of her pearly whites are unmistakable fangs. This is clearly a touchy subject.]

Been there, done that, watched the witch blow it to pieces. And she's the one we kept.
[Mouse laughs, too]
Users live outside the Net. Usually they don't do much - run games, system updates, things like that. Sometimes they're smart and run virus scans and system restores after the crash.
[She glares at Tony a little out of the corner of her eye]
Now what about this place? I don't think my stopfile commands are going to be much use around here.
[QUICKLOG AND ACTION: Mouse and Stark and MILKSHAKES WHAT]liverletdieApril 25 2009, 05:58:10 UTC
Well then she's never been around my firewalls.
[ Tony pauses, and sighs, looking out the window for a moment, before turning back to her. ]
Well, to put it lightly, if what you're telling me about 'users' is true, then its safe to say that no commands are going to work until you get on a computer somewhere. I'm not the only "user" around here. In fact, I'd say almost everyone uses a computer these days.

[ Tony nodded, he was a bit worried that computer programs were being ported in, but, of course, this is something to be stowed away and considered later. The cab finally pulls up to a small shop, and Tony hands the man a few bills, before indicating towards the door. ]
[Sharpen, sharpen.]

I take it you're Mouse?

Right you are, sugar. Tony Stark?
Reply
The one and only. Are you ready to head out?
Reply
Ready since I got here.
[With a coy smile and a matching wink, Mouse slid into the backseat of the cab.]

So what is it that you did before showing up in the City?

I'm a hacker program. For the past few cycles it's been fighting the Virals, but normally I crack systems. Freelance work.
[She smiled, shrugging.] Just a little Mouse looking for some open cracks.
Reply
A program, huh? I don't think I've actually met a program before, especially not a hacker program.
[ There's the look of a thought crossing his features. ]
You're not a malicious program, are you?

I'm not a virus.

[ Tony shrugs at this point, shaking his head. ]
Well, lets just say I have, and I haven't.

[After a moment, she relaxes, smiling once more.]
Yeah, you're a User, aren't you?
Reply
[ Tony just laughs at the phrasing, not sure what to make of it. ]
Well, I've been a user of many things, what do you mean by it?

[After a moment, Mouse nods, looking out the other window.]
I figured as much. One of the little darlings on this network mentioned it. At least those still make sense.
