No one had been killed. No one had even been seriously hurt. About a dozen people had been kidnapped, been subjected to an armed farce, and then let go. The City had seen much worse before, and almost certainly would see worse again despite Jack's best efforts.
But it had been for the sake of terrorizing one of his people that this thing had happened, and not just any person: Abby, one of the best and kindest people Jack had ever met, and someone who he felt personally responsible for. Because of this, with no massive supervillain attacks currently being prepared for or reacted to, this 'trial' had immediately become the Captain's top priority. The first step in getting to the bottom of this was to talk to the people involved, the victims. Interestingly though, Kale Ingram wasn't acting like a victim, treating his abduction as a minor inconvenience. The cool and collected way he'd acted made Jack sure that he'd noticed a lot during the experience. With any luck, he'd be able to give him something he could use.
This was what was going through Jack Bauer's mind as he rang Kale Ingram's doorbell.
