WHO: Jonah Matsuka (
loveyourenemy) and everyone who signed on to talk him down from his nuclear psychic meltdown.
WHERE: A low-traffic area of the city.
WHEN: Saturday sometime after
Keith's death.
WARNINGS: Nuclear psychic meltdown.
SUMMARY: Keith's death broke Matsuka, and now his Mu powers are running out of control in the emotional chaos.
FORMAT: Prose for starters.
It's over.
With his hand pressed to his injured arm, holding it close against his side, Matsuka limped slowly down the middle of a street lined mostly by empty, run-down buildings. The instinct that had prompted his reflexive teleportation had dropped him here, where there were fewer minds clustered nearby to confuse him... a mercy he was in no state of mind to appreciate.
Bits of snow swirled wildly around him without any wind to drive them, whipped by the force of his out-of-control telekinesis. A car parked on the side of the road began to crumple, windows shattering as Matsuka came slowly closer; broken glass scattered across the pavement, but Matsuka didn't see it. In his mind, over and over, the memory repeated - the look in Keith's eyes in that last moment. The sick finality of the sound. The sensation of his thoughts fading away.
Gone...
Tears streamed down Matsuka's face. The screaming rage that had gripped him earlier had left him; left in its place was a tumult of despair, grief, and desperation, pouring out of him unchecked into the minds of anyone near. Half a block behind him, a woman who'd been waiting at a bus stop on the corner found herself crying, for no reason she could explain.
All for nothing...
Nearby, the glass of an overhanging streetlight shattered and rained more glittering fragments down onto the icy street; its metal pole groaned and buckled as he passed.
Matsuka limped on, limned in a bright green glow, too lost within himself to notice the damage.
[ooc: Bruno will encounter Matsuka first, and call Bakura in! Other characters are welcome to home in on the psychic chaos and/or short trail of property damage.]
