Luna had emerged with an overabundance of costumes. So many, in fact, that they were falling out of her arms, hands overstuffed with hats and shoes and dresses and who knew what else. What she couldn't carry, she floated. Until she found a spot off in the corner to unceremoniously dump everything. Then she pulled off a shoe.

After inspecting it, she then pointed her wand at the footwear, transfiguring it into a mannequin.

Now, time to get to work.

"Hello there, fraulein!" The Major said, raising a hand as he approached her. "You have been placed in charge of costumes and uniforms, isn't that so? I require something suitable, something dignified, to glow under the bright stage lights!" He smiled, addressing her as though she was a quartermaster. "Something in white, I should think."

Luna looked up, oblivious as reams of fabric started sprouting out of her wand. And peered at the Major for a little too long, as if he was a familiar face she couldn't quite place. Perhaps if he was wearing more pink and went 'hem hem'...

"Are you the--" she frowned, very seriously contemplating something. "--What do they call them on the fellytision? A diva?"

The Major chuckled good-naturedly, then swept his hand over his stomach and bowed a little. "No, no. I am the Major. I have been granted the honour of portraying the 'Good Father' in this production, and I mean to give it my very best!" The thought of all these people who hated him having this play succeed partly because of him was deeply amusing.

Luna laughed. Why, her first impression was all wrong, he seemed to be a rather nice man after all. Barely even Umbridge-esque. "Major? I thought that was a rank, not a name. Then again, Muggle names can be rather strange -- but you probably think the same about us."

She smiled and offered a hand for the shaking. Even as the cloth began draping itself over her, insistently, tired of being ignored. "I'm Luna Lovegood, by the way."

"A name and a rank can be much the same thing: they are both labels used to describe what a thing is." The Major held out the hand he'd been bowing with- his other arm was currently in a sling, courtesy of Bucky. "So it is with me. My rank describes what I am well enough to be my name! It is a pleasure to meet you, Frau Lovegood."

He eyed the cloth pouring forth from her wand with interest. "Am I correct in thinking that you possess the power of magic? What a fine ability to have, especially for this kind of work."

She curtsied. Or tried to, at least -- she stumbled a bit. It seemed the appropriate thing to do when introducing oneself to a highly-ranked gentleman. The effort at politeness was ruined, however, when she stared open-mouthed at his sling. "Your arm," she noted, pointing. "What happened to it?"

Finally taking notice of her wand, she added (while fumbling with the large reel of fabic), "I have a bit more experience using it for things like that, actually, although bones are much harder to knit back together than clothes."

"Oh, just a war wound," the Major said, completely unconcerned with having a hole blown through his flesh and circuitry. He smirked a little when Luna stumbled. "It is always exciting, I think, to see new battle scars." He looked somewhat uncertain at her fumbling with the wand and the cloth. "Of course, anything that speeds a soldier's recovery and gets him back in the field is always welcome... but I think that your talents are already occupied."

Luna nodded, the smile fading from her face. She was used to it, of course, but that wasn't the same as enjoying being smirked at. "I don't enjoy battles. They can be thrilling, in a way, but I hate seeing my friends get hurt."

Finally getting the cloth under control - or at least bundled up safely in her arms - she paused, looking thoughtful. "Well... of course I would help. Even if I'm not the best Healer. Although I was hoping I wouldn't have to."

The Major kept smiling when Luna stopped. "Consider that a reason to fight all the harder, for their sakes! Many battles have been decided by who cared the most for their comrades. It is one of the most powerful motivations there is."

He looked down at his arm, thinking. The girl was clearly inexperienced and not terribly collected, but this was an injury which would take a great deal of time to heal on its own. And there was another problem on top of that...

"I deeply appreciate the offer, my kindhearted fraulein," he said. "Yet the problem may be more complicated than simply mending my flesh. I need to know whether your power is also capable of repairing things of metal." His eyes narrowed and his smile shrank. "I have had some work done, you see, for other old wounds."

There was something unsettling, even to her, about his continued smiles. She put it out of her mind, though, as she knelt down (perhaps a bit too close for comfort) to take a good look at his arm. "I'm just glad the fighting's over," she murmured, going quiet.

She didn't know much about metal and Muggle things, after all, besides what she had gleaned from Muggle Studies -- and Mr. Weasley, of course. Perhaps this wasn't the best idea. Yet... strange smiling habit aside, there was no reason to say no...

Luna licked her lips and pointed her wand. It couldn't hurt to try. Could it? "Reparo!"

It might have been a good idea to stop that cloth spell first.

The Major was somewhat apprehensive about that proximity, and how much control this young witch could really have, but then... he felt the machinery within himself shifting and growing, melted and smashed parts becoming whole while the skin and muscle around his implants matched suit, healing in moments.

"Ahhhh..."

Within a matter of seconds, his recovery had gone from a potential obstacle to an accomplished objective. He beamed, feeling rejuvenated and invigorated.

"What a wonderful improvement!" He exclaimed, grinning. "Absolutely fantastic! You truly are a gifted practitioner, Luna Lovegood. I thank you!"
