Damian may have scaled the wall to knock on a window instead of using the front door, which he sees as entirely too orthodox.

Alex got up when he heard the knocking, but barely peeked through the curtains until he saw who it was. He opened up the window and let the kid in.

"Robin, what brings you around? Got a sitrep for me?"

He jumps through the window and into the room, all the while balancing two paper mugs of coffee. Wordlessly, he hands one over to Alex.

"Tt. No reason. Though I'm surprised you haven't gone crazy yet."

He accepts the coffee with a smile, then taps his forehead with the other hand.

"You think that little of my mental fortitude?"

He rolls his eyes, a gesture so exaggerated it's probably visible through his mask.

"It has less to do with you and more so with the situation. But wait, let me guess--you're one of those who loves being in charge."

The sound he makes is somewhere between a scoff and a chuckle.

"I wouldn't say it quite like that, I just know how to handle myself in a situation that calls for my leadership.

"Then I guess we're lucky you were around." His tone isn't as mocking as it might have been. He pauses for a moment, gulping down some of his coffee, and then turns back to Alex. "Any chance you can fix this anytime soon? Whatever it is."

"I'm doing what I can, and have people looking into the matter. I've been a bit too busy keeping things in order to personally look for solutions, though."

He almost said 'I don't know,' but he's been trying to avoid outright lies, just in case. Besides, it's a good chance that would be what's inferred from what he did say, anyway.

Damian gives him a quizzical glance, but doesn't comment on the validity of his response.

"Whatever it is, I'm sick of it. Most of these brats are more trouble than they're worth." Which isn't to say he wants anything to happen to them, but wrangling de-aged members of his "family" has been a rather taxing activity.

He can't help grinning. "And I'm sure you were the most bell-behaved child in history, yeah? But hopefully this'll pass soon, and everything'll be back to normal."

"Yeah. Normal." Alex's grin is met only with scowls. "Whatever passes for normal here, anyhow."

He'll admit, the scowl only makes him want to grin wider, but he fights the urge. Instead he drowns it with a sip of coffee. "Yeah, that can be a pretty nebulous status in a place like this."

Damian's still gulping his down, tapping the bottom of the mug with his fingers to get as much as possible out of it.

"Well, you haven't let it go completely to hell. I guess that's something."

Alex had to chuckle at that. "Trust me, I know Hell firsthand. I wouldn't wish it on any but my worst enemies, and I certainly wouldn't let it happen to the City."

"That's a pretty weighty statement." Again, a searching look. He doesn't exactly trust Alex, but Damian finds him tolerable, so he wants to, in a way.

Alex doesn't really trust anyone, but he figures spilling what he can without full disclosure would make things easier to gain it from others. "No exaggeration, either. It was no small matter I escaped when I got here."
