[Billy is headed home, thoughts wrapped up in what's been going on lately. Things are... complicated, to say the least, on a world wide scale and a personal one. He could easily just teleport home, but walking gives him a chance to be by himself and be alone with his thoughts.
He's so wrapped up in his thoughts and not really paying attention to what's going on around him when one of those personal problems almost walks right by him.
