Kanaya wandered in around 2pm and immediately began to admire the decor. She wasn't fully sure who she should speak with or what exactly she was doing here to begin with. Some part of her was afraid the whole thing would just reveal itself to have been one big joke. All of the others here seemed much older than her.

She ended up clinging to the wall as she made her way around the room.

Donna spotted her after a moment, and after wrapping up her conversation made her way over. She of all people knew what teenagers were capable of, and didn't really see anything wrong with putting them on her staff--if they took care of themselves and did who knew what in the City and elsewhere, why shouldn't they be old enough to have fashion opinions?

In any case, she waved as she approached, smiling. "Hey. I'm Donna."

She wasn't entirely sure if being recognized was better or not, but if she wanted to be a part of this project, it would certainly be necessary. Still, her glow wavered a bit as Donna approached. Kanaya's first impression of her was very impressed, and noticing the faint sparkles in her hair that the video didn't quite do justice only made her somehow more impressive. Kanaya couldn't imagine why she was wasting her time with someone like her.

"Oh. I...I'm Kanaya. We spoke over the Network, I apologize if I'm interrupting anything."

Donna just nods. "Of course. I thought so, but...sometimes people look different over the little video, you know?" She laughs a little.

"And you're not interrupting, at all. Have you had a chance to look around? What do you think?" She gestures at the office around them. "I was wondering if shouldn't go for more color, but then I figured everyone would want to personalize their own space, so..."

"Yes, I'd noticed, myself." Her glow just keeps flickering.

Her eyes follow the sweep of Donna's arm as she takes in the scenery. "It's certainly an interesting decor, though I hardly think one can ever do wrong with more color." Never ask Kanaya Maryam if she thinks something could be more colorful. The answer will almost always be yes.

Donna chuckled. "Maybe once we have a theme and logo set, we can accent accordingly."

She turns back to face Kanaya more fully, her eyes taking in the glow but not yet commenting. Instead, she laced her fingers in front of her and nodded. "So, we have the place, but the key is bringing in ideas. I want to split it into...three parts, I think. One with things like advise columns and silly stories and gossip, another focusing on high fashion and the like, and the third on exclusively City-related stories."

"Oh, well I think the second one would certainly interest me most! Are there more specific focuses I may be suited for?" She felt silly, she'd already asked about this on the Network, hadn't she. God, she's going to ruin this.

She looked thoughtful for a moment, as though she was mulling it over. "Well, what I'd most like is for everyone to have the opportunity to do something that interests them. Until things get off the ground, we may have to work on a few general things all together--we might have you help out with makeovers, and styling for photoshoots, and giving fashion advice, for instance. But as things progress, if you find yourself liking one thing or another, you can spend more time there."

"I think I may be able to navigate that." She managed a small, yet at least marginally confident, small with that.

Donna beamed back. "I'm glad. You can let me know if there's anything you need, or if you have any questions."

"I'll be sure to!" Then she looked around a little uneasily before adding, "I'm...still fairly new to this, I'm sorry."

"There's no need to apologize. TO tell you the truth, I'm new to the whole editor thing, myself. We'll learn the ropes together, ok?"

Well, that was a little reassuring, at least. "Alright. I'll do my best not to let you down."

"With that attitude, you couldn't possibly." It was safe to say that Donna found Kanaya's entire manor endearing, and wanted her to be more comfortable. "Tell you what--for our inaugural issue, I want to do a big photo spread at the park for it. Do you think you'd like to help style the models?"

"Oh, I think I'd enjoy that!" She pondered on where to begin with such a thing, trying to keep the broader appeal Donna'd mentioned in mind. "Is there a particular theme the shoot will revolve around?"

"The first thing I thought of was bright colors, to go along with the end of summer. I think it'd look nice outside, too. But other than that--nothing concrete. So there's lots of wiggle-room, so to speak."
