Well, it's nothing really. You simply have to keep the combustion wheel pressed as you hit the triggering panel!

[HUHUHU] Hmm. My turn again, I guess!

[Reaching out to take it back, flicking... flicking... AND FINALLY RESULTS. She blinks, but doesn't move her hand in a way that'd kill the flame. A little handburnin' is nothing, after all!]

There we go. [She floats her previously-lit candle off into the air and raises another one to the lighter.] Human technology is so weird, haha.

Well, I often had trouble with our own, quite honestly. [ she eyes the light idly ] This is at least a simple enough mechanism that I have little need of a manual or help document.

Well, that would at least generally be the result of one having the ability to fly, I should think. This does render me highly visible in the darkness, but how far that would in fact broadcast I'm not fully certain of.

[ wait where was she going with this ] Yes, so I suppose one might not be given ability to track me from so great a distance as a fairy trail, but I think it's generally what the brightness communicates to those already in close proximity to me that I most worry over!

That's true! I was thinking just in terms of silliness, really. I mean, it probably serves... some kind of purpose for you to glow, and you certainly pull it off.

I hadn't considered silliness, as I understand fairy trails can have rather serious consequences!

[And at this point she's got some more practice, so she flicks the bic! Totally hurting her poor virgin thumb pad in the process, but really who cares. While she's touching the wick to the flame, the hollows on her face all illuminated and spooky with flickering light, she shoots him a grin.]

Way better. [And now she's looking at his phone! Aradia's still got the candle, but is now floating it just outside of her open hands so as not to get wax all over herself. In a sort of affectionately teasing voice:] Jeez, are you even getting anything on that?
