[Oh look. He is not only way older than everyone in this room but he also towers above them all. At least the desk isn't an awkward fit.

He'll just... sit at the back of the class and try to ignore the fact that every kid in the room is looking at him.]

Not anymore!

[On Friday there's a new student in class, who looks very happy to be there. He sits at the back too.]

Hi there!

[He's determined to make friends with all of his classmates, no matter how strange. After all, he's the kid with yellow eyes.]

[Baroona glances at the new kid, surprised by the enthusiasm. He nods in response to the greeting.]

Hey.

[He's not the most social person.....]

[gatewhatgate]

{The Monster's completely undeterred by such a lackluster response.]

What's your name?

[broroona]

Baroona.

[He turns his eyes to the front of the class as the teacher starts to speak, realizes he doesn't really care, and turns back to New Student #1]

[gatewhatgate]

I'm called Monster. Nice to meet you! [Because that's a totally real name and not suspicious at all.]

So this is school, huh? Have you ever been to school before?

[broroona]

No.

[But he'd rather not talk about that with someone he just met.]

Is your real name Monster?

[gatewhatgate]

Me neither!

Oh, no. I don't have a real name. Everybody calls me Monster, so it's fine.

[broroona]

[Oh. That's... odd.]

Why don't you have a name?

[gatewhatgate]

Um. [What an odd question! Although not that weird, everybody else had a name. He considered it.]

I never had one. It wasn't until recently that anyone thought I should have a name, 'cause back home I didn't need one.

[broroona]

Why not?

[gatewhatgate]

I guess if I needed a name, they'd have given me one, right?

[He's starting to feel uncomfortable, so he changes the subject. He gestures to a map of the world on the wall.]

That's a lot of continents. There's like, five of them.

[broroona]

[He turns his attention to the map, frowning as he looks at it.]

I guess.

[He's still interested in the whole name thing but he knows how to take a hint.]

[gatewhatgate]

So, uh... [He's not sure what to say. But he's nervous, and he gets chatty when he's nervous.]

Do you... like food?

[broroona]

[That earns a thin smile from him.]

I don't know anyone who doesn't. [He leans back in his seat, quirking an eyebrow up.]

Do you always ask this many questions?

[gatewhatgate]

[He just... blinks.]

Yeah, I suppose. I ask a lot of questions 'cause I'm not very smart. When I ask questions people give me the answers to things so I don't have to figure it out on my own.

Except that last one was just because I wanted to talk.
