[A tall, thin man is in attendance as well, with dark hair and a well-kept moustache. He gingerly sips from his glass of wine on occasion, his eye wandering amongst the the other participants of the gathering.

The opportunity was impossible to pass up, Vic intends to learn all he can.]

[The stranger regards this new player with some curiosity. His accent has a vague European flair, but is difficult to place exactly.]

Rather enthusiastic, aren't you? Abandoning your drink and inquiring on my name without first volunteering your own.

[He takes it with a polite smile.] Stefan Kinley. I work in...shipping, if my meaning is understood.

Now, Mr. Blake, precisely what was it that caught your eye, if I may ask?

[Somewhere inside, Vic is smiling as he tries to figure out if Thomas is actually trying to pick him up or not. On the outside, his expression is professional yet subtly amused.]

So I see. You're keeping an eye open for potential business prospects, I take it?

[His eyes widen with surprise. He didn't expect that impulse to be correct.]

Mr. Blake, if I didn't know better, I'd think you were trying to proposition me.

[Well this wasn't awkward or anything. From the look of his eye, Thomas has been through a hell of a time lately, and Vic felt a little guilty for leading him on like this, so he'd have to let him down easy. It was a delicate situation, but Vic knew, if anything, how to handle things diplomatically.]

Not as such, but as an exercise in propriety, I never practice such arrangements only after a single meeting. But allow me to buy you a drink.

[He gestures for the bartender.]

[Mr. Kinley raises his glass.]

All the more for me, then. [He slides a cocktail napkin in front of him and starts scribbling numbers and hands it to Thomas.] Don't feel the need to scatter so quickly, I simply can't afford the distraction from my business, as I came here in search of such opportunities.

Why not expound on this weapons shipment you mentioned? Perhaps I could be of service.

[Mr. Kinley taps his cheek thoughtfully.]

Let me know the when and where, I can accomplish whatever needs doing.
