[ Somehow, quite possibly at the prompting of a normally pink-haired person, Luna has found herself standing under a sprig of mistletoe.

Wringing her hands. Trying to keep a smile on her face, lest the Nargles come after her. Wondering if she could Apparate away before they - or, worse, someone looking for a snog - spotted her. ]

[ Luna's lips, on the other hand, begin to slowly part as she leans in. ]

[ kanaya finally puckers her lips and closes her eyes tightly as she moves into the kiss, entirely blind ]

[ Luna shuts her eyes, too, and... collides with what feels like Kanaya's nose. How romantic. ]

[ well it is quite a formidable protrusion! she snaps back before almost kissing luna's chin ]

Oh! I, um...sorry.

[ Her eyes open as she realizes her mistake. ]

No, I'm sorry! If I'd aimed properly, you probably wouldn't have...

[ she wipes her face with her hands, trying to collect herself ]

[ moment's pause, the she adds: ] ...If you'd be interested, I mean.

[ She tries her very best to give the other girl a reassuring smile. ]

These things happen, you know. Well, at least in theory I was sure they did and then it happened in reality, but...

[ Pause. Right. Reality. That thing she's taking a moment to get back to. ] I- I mean, of course I would! If you would. Though perhaps we should keep our eyes open this time, at least at first.

That would be be advisable, I think. Along with, perhaps...

[ she brings up her hands and slowly places them on luna's cheeks ] T-to, um...as an effort to m-m-maintain st-stability.

[ Luna's cheeks could not be burning brighter. ] O- oh! That's a very good idea. Do you want to the countdown again, or should we... ?

[ She leans in again, to illustrate her suggestion, but comes to a sudden stop once she realizes they're very, very close. ]

[ kanaya is just not at all sure how to proceed from here, she's afraid she might've moved too fast already, and wasn't sue why she'd even done that. it would be so easy just to close the distance between them already, except that it really wasn't easy at all ]

If, um, y-y-you think it would st-still be necessary.

[ She smiled and, hoping it would help, lifted a hand and laid it on Kanaya's cheek. ]

Will it help you feel better about this? Then I think we should, but maybe...

[ She swallows, nervously, and just starts spewing out whatever words come to mind. ] Maybe we should, what's the phrase? "Go for it"? T- That's a bit blunt, though, isn't it, now that I'm actually hearing myself say it...

It might be better to...just to ensure that we successfully complete the exchange eventually.

[ she doesn't dare taking her eyes off of luna, but she's almost certain that everyone must be looking by now, and she's blushing and glowing and just impossibly flustered over the whole thing, to the point that it's almost exhausting.

so she finally decides just to kinda...lean in more, and hope luna takes the cue to get the rest of it out of the way ]

[ Luna, luckily, gets the idea! And so she presses her lips against Kanaya's. Finally. It's nothing special, in fact it's quite chaste. And awkward, as these things tend to be. It is, however, just enough to distract the other girl from whomever may be watching.

Or so she hopes. ]

[ it does, and it's awkward, but it lasts about five seconds before kanaya goes ahead and pulls away, blushing still and looking at her feet, but at least with a small smile now ]

[ Luna exactly the same. To the floor, she mumbles... ]
